Dilemma
The short story: If we stay with our local cable company we will get every BYU football game this season. All twelve. But if we switch back to satellite we will get none (zero, zilch, cero) - but the satellite-switch will give us 31 channels in HD (high definition) - including Discovery HD and Discovery HD Theater. Since we now have an HDTV in the living room, it seems like a waste of its capabilities if we continue to use it for non-HD viewing. What do ya'll (as Bryan now says) think we should do?
Every BYU game
and no HD
or
31 channels of HD
and no BYU games?
and no HD
or
31 channels of HD
and no BYU games?

The discovery channel is great and all but thare are not enough shows on it to be a deciding factor. As for the HD, I'm sure your channels are nice and clear as they are. I say stick with what you've got. -Brett
Stick with what you got! Every BYU game is better than HD. HD is overated anyway...sure its nice, but not that nice!
Better to waste the TV's capabilities than waste your time watching it. I mean, than waste your time watching anything other than BYU football. If you don't opt for the games you'll regret it. But Mom might not. Until she has to listen to you bellyache about missing the games. Better keep the cable.
I googled 'HDTV is a waste?' and found some things which supported my opinion. HDTV may be nice when compared to it's predecessor. I am shocked you would consider giving up all the games for a slightly better picture which sometimes you may not even notice. It's like having two of moms cookies, one has been cooked a little longer than it should have been and is now darker. Well, they both taste so delicious but one might not look as good.
I disagree... I don't think burnt cookies taste as good as the others.-Sherrie
I know without rereading my post that I did not say 'burnt'. An experienced cookie cooker like myself know what a deliciously golden brown cookie is supposed to look like. A darker brown, cooked maybe 2 minutes longer than should be, cookie is just as good. They may look a little "burnt" but in all actuality they are just dark. Rudey-poot!
Sounds like a burnt cookie to me.-Sherrie
Let me reduce this problem to its essence: Watch BYU football or eat poop for breakfast.
True, you may not actually eat poop for breakfast, but any decision opposite the actual watching of BYU football in the comfort of your own home is the equivalent of eating poop.
Who wants to eat poop?
Don't answer that Bryan.
I vote for Joe.-Eric
If you place a plate of cookies in front of me and tell me not to eat them, and you are 1600 miles away, of course I am going to eat them.
So as a response to Joe, In my research I have found that Dog's eating their own feces is actually good for them. The reasons are because they still get nutrients out of the undigested food. And according to one source they also may view poop as a snack since they do not have as diverse a smell sense as humans do. They only determine whether something is good, bad, or mediocre. They determine whether or not they like something by it's texture and it's 'good factor'.
I believe that this may be true for humans too. Consider this: How many of you like the smell of your farts? Is that not what your poop smalls like? Why then would it be so bad to at least try a taste? The texture could be the same as say mashed potato's, or maybe a banana. The only reason I can think of for why humans don't eat their own poop is because society says it is disgusting.
Joe said don't answer.
