"Put your pencils down..."

Interesting. I took an online quiz just now, that supposedly shows which candidates are the most in line with my own views on issues. On most questions I did not feel like my position fit into any of the choices offered, and I also felt like there should have been additional questions (there were only 14), but I had to choose something. So here are my test results:

"Below are the candidates ranked by how much you agree with their stances."

John McCain score: 41
Rudy Giuliani 35
Mitt Romney 33
Ron Paul 27
Mike Huckabee 22
Barack Obama 18
Hillary Clinton 18
Dennis Kucinich 13
John Edwards 10
Mike Gravel 10

I asked, "Would you vote for Hillary?" And she said, "I just might."

Dad's eyeballs just blew out of his face.

The questions were poorly written. Just two examples: the stem cell research question might be considered two questions in one. Asking if government funding should be used for it is different than asking if the research should be done. And the universal health care question does not define universal health care. As I understand it it means government funded/mandated, which is different than saying I think everyone should have a viable opportunity to receive health care.

If this is how poll questions are regularly asked there isn't much value to them. -Daniel

Interesting results.

And that IS how poll questions are written - that's why you hear strange/odd poll results reported. They say you can make statistics say anything you want, well I think you can make poll results say anything you want just by wording the questions in certain ways - and by phrasing the answers (and/or limiting the possible responses) in just such a way.
