Odetta sings 'Water Boy'

I just watched Part One of a Bob Dylan documentary. I was a Bob Dylan fan in high school and owned some of his albums - so I was fascinated. But anyway, the film showed clips of singers that influenced Dylan's style, and Odetta was one of them. Now if you start watching this clip with just casual curiosity, I guarantee your interest will be piqued fewer than ten seconds in. Betcha you watch more than once. Enjoy.

How'd she do that without popping her finger out of her mouth? (Yeah, weird, but cool) -Daniel

Man! If grandma would have been able to make that popping noise with her mouth instead of the notorious clap and point accompanied by "Boys!" I think we would have been perfect children. Amazing stuff.

…Although on further thought, the clap, point, and shout was pretty darn effective.

Furthermore, "Water boy" is a pretty sweet title for this tune, but I think a more appropriate title would be "Wowzers".

P.S.

That popping sound is not actually her — Steve’s Tooth Troll is beatboxing inside her mouth.
