Another note from January 2003
Again, from Elder Packer.
"What manner of men ought we to be? Even as He is. This includes being happy."

It's taken me my entire life (though only half of yours) to figure out that happiness is a choice. I can choose to be happy, or I can choose to be sad and depressed. Lately, I've chosen to be sad and depressed; and the only thing I've gained from it is more heartburn and anxiety.
I like your insight Mike and I agree with it. I think a lot of our attitude is controlled, if not all, by how we choose to feel. I have recently been trying so hard to get back to the laid-back person I was before I joined the Army. During my four years in my attitude was altered. I was getting angry at little things and getting depressed a lot. Since being married though I have found new joy and more reasons to be happy. My wonderful wife has to remind me sometimes to calm down over insignificant things, which I am very grateful for. But to have the ability to choose to be happy is truly a blessing, and to have the strength to choose to be happy is another wonderful blessing.
I agree with y'all. Happiness is a choice.
