Scooter Taken off Street
I usually refrain from expressing political views in this space so as not to be ...well, political. Many fine people, dead and alive, have been, and are, of all political persuasions. I have personally known many fine citizens and scoundrels alike in several of the political parties. Having said that, I believe an injustice has occurred that I cannot refrain from expressing my opinion on. I have listened to and read about the trial of Lewis "Scooter" Libby since before it even started. As evidence that the press has dealt with him in a scandalous and (maybe even bordering on libelous) manner, can any of you reading this editorial name what he was indicted for and what he was convicted of? I believe a pardon or commuted sentence should be in his future, but doubt either will happen because the press has mislead the public with so many false, misleading and provocative statements about him and his crimes (both real and imagined), that a pardon or commute would be extremely unpopular. Two recent pieces written about him and his sins (one written by a liberal and the other by a conservative) can be read
here and
here.

A grown man with the name of Scooter should be thrown in jail.
Another good example for why I despise politics.
