John Beck Gets His Chance
DAVIE, Fla. — The winless Miami Dolphins have decided to find out whether rookie John Beck is their quarterback of the future. Beck will make his NFL debut when he starts Sunday at Philadelphia.
. . .
The Dolphins are only the seventh team to start 0-9 since 1990.
Beck was the first quarterback drafted in the first or second round by the Dolphins since Marino. Giving him a tryout now will help them decide whether they need to acquire a quarterback in 2008.

I Dolphins are terrible, and I just hope Johnboy doesn't get eaten up and then dumped to the side.
I know he's probably excited, but getting the starting nod your rookie year, with no real NFL tutelage, on an 0-9 team, on the road in loud and crazy Philadelphia - sounds like he's getting thrown into a lose-lose situation.
I'm excited, though, and I hope they stick with him through next season to give him a solid chance to earn the job.
