I should explain. I took this at Duck Creek Reservoir, in the mountains above Cedar City. This tree caught my eye and as I set up to take picture I noticed the bird in the nest. This was actually the third shot I took of the bird: each was taken closer than the last. As I only had my 50 mm lens I had to be like 24 inches or so from the bird for this portrait. I like the photo without the bird, but the bird is the icing on the cake.

I thought I was noticing that the tree was of the male species. John
How come the trunk of said tree is an aspen, but the branches are of a pine?-Eric
It's an Aspine.
I don't see any cake.
